Iowa Nut Growers Association (INGA)
INGA is an Iowa non-profit corporation founded in 1942 and incorporated in 1968 to promote:
- An interest in nut-bearing plants
- Scientific research in breeding and culture
- Standardization of varietal names
- Encouraging greater use of nut trees in Iowa Agriculture and home landscape plantings
- Dissemination of information on all of the topics above

Friday, Oct 4th, Sustainable Iowa Land Trust (SILT) "Nut Farm" Open House, noon to 2:00pm
Join the Iowa Nut Growers Association, along with the staff of SILT, for this open house at the Nut Farm near Ottumwa to learn about a great opportunity to rent a producing nut farm of chestnuts, hazelnuts, paw paws, complete with a cabin, beautiful prairie and more. The Annual INGA Southern IA Nut Tour and Field Day will feature a tour of the nut research site on the campus of Indian Hills Community College, a tour of the brand-new campus and vacilities, and a fied day near Chariton with Ilona Strovers and DNR Foresters Duane Bedford and Jeremy Cochran.

The Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden hosts an annual Trick or Trees event that features a costume contest for kids along with interactive and engaging displays from a wide range of local and state organizations. The Iowa Nut Growers Association will be exhibiting again this year and handing out nut samples and educating the public on the organization.
